Honoring My Grandfather’s Legacy 🇺🇸

On April 27, North Brunswick Township in New Jersey dedicated Yorke Road and Riverton Street as Firsing Way during a special Veteran Street Sign Ceremony.

My grandfather, Stephen L. Firsing, moved to North Brunswick in 1956 and lived on Yorke Road for decades. He served our nation with distinction in the U.S. Navy. He loved his country deeply, just as I do. After his service, he built a successful career as a machinist and tool & die maker, enjoyed fishing, and most of all cherished his role as a devoted husband to my grandmother Sarah and was a loving family man.

Seeing his name now grace the very street where he raised his family and lived a life of quiet dedication and service fills me with immense pride. It’s a powerful reminder of the lasting impact one’s commitment can have on a community and on the values we pass forward.

My sincere thanks to Mayor David N. Cohen, the Township Council, and everyone involved in making this tribute possible.

Grateful beyond words.
