Texas is not a cheap place to live. We need to continue tax cuts and other fiscal measures to ensure, at the end of the month, we have more money for our families and our businesses, not a larger government. Scott will make sure your hard earned money in the Texas budget is spent wisely.

Our children deserve better. Texas has some of the worst rankings in education and our children’s health. Moreover, our children need to be taught personal responsibility and good old American values, not have their mind poisoned by extreme individuals or their groups.

For more than 30 years, “Recapture” or “The Robin Hood Plan”, has tried and failed to equalize school funding throughout Texas. As a former K-12 School Principal and University Professor, and a father of five, Scott knows it is time for Recapture reform.

We need to continue to support small business growth in Texas. The state provides a welcoming environment. Combined with Texans strong work ethic, small business is the backbone of our state and America as whole.

Austinites are dealing with a lot more crime. Scott has heard the stories: “Last night my cars were stolen out my driveway…I was right near a shooting the other day.” Scott dealt with crime almost everyday while living in South Africa and he will help make sure we don’t have a similar situation here.

Cannabis has a plethora of medical benefits. Texas has taken the right steps with hemp and its compassionate use program, but it doesn’t go far enough. It’s time to raise and expand medical marijuana in Texas. It makes medical and financial sense.

Corruption undermines the American people and our communities. It erodes the trust we have in the public sector and our elected officials. It’s time you have a representative that doesn’t waste your tax money that is meant to help Texans and the organizations making a real difference.

Scientific knowledge is the most reliable source of information we have about ourselves and the world. For example, science has proven the spark of life happens at conception. Furthermore, our climate is changing and Texas will continue to be hit hard. Whether it’s ice storms or droughts, let’s use this knowledge so we are better prepared for the future.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” This well-known quote has never been more true. It’s a dangerous time and Texas needs new, motivated leaders who are passionate about serving their community like Scott. Hopefully this campaign will motivate more people to get involved.
